Zero Waste - No Nasties - Gorgeous Hair

Tips for using shampoo bars: Wet your hair and rub the bar over the hair to create a creamy lather. You will need to use plenty of water. If you feel there isn’t enough lather, just add more water! Some people like to use a diluted cider vinegar as a conditioning rinse. Put a splash of vinegar in a jug of water and use it after rinsing all of the shampoo out of your hair. As you pour it over your hair you will notice how your hair becomes immediately soft and silky. Then do a final rinse. Avoid contact with eyes as it will sting. If you get it in your eyes rinse with plenty of water.

Good to know: If you are using an all-natural shampoo bar for the first time, it may take some time for your hair and scalp to get used to it as it goes through a period of “detox”. It takes a while for the chemicals that have built up on your hair to be washed out and your scalp may also take some time to get back to producing its natural amount of sebum again. During this time your hair may feel “gunky”, greasy, dull or drier than usual. Please persevere – it’ll be worth it! Please be aware that not all shampoo bars are natural. Most of the round discs made with little noodles may contain chemicals (e.g. SLS) which are found in many liquid shampoos and not only terrible for you, but also the aquatic system.

    Beautiful gentle product

This is my first time using a shampoo bar, I find it really easy to create a lather, and it doesn't need much soap for this so I can imagine the bar will last a fair amount of time. It was helpful to read the small info card that came with the soap, and to know in advance that I may experience a difference while my hair adjusts to a natural product that doesn't strip away the oils (unlike normal synthetic shampoo). This feels like a very simple natural product, and it feels great to be caring for my health in this way.

    lovely shampoo bar

I first bought this shampoo in August last year, a few weeks later my hairdresser asked me what I was using to shampoo my hair because she had noticed that my hair was thicker and in better condition!

    Lovely.

Have used the various shampoo bars from Highland Soaps for several years now and wouldn't use anything else. Leaves my hair soft and shiny and easy to style. Highly recommend.

    Earthy scent

Really love the smell of this shampoo bar, it's a light and earthy scent. It lathers well and is lasting a long time - especially since I took the advice to cut it in half. It has lost a star as sometimes my hair (which is naturally soft and fine) can be left feeling slightly tacky but I'm experimenting with how to avoid that
