Why We Use Aloe Vera In Almost Everything

Why We Use Aloe Vera In Almost Everything

If you've ever looked at the ingredients list on one of our products, you'll have noticed one name appearing again and again: Aloe Vera.

It's in 65 of our products - from hand washes and body washes to shampoos, creams and lotions. And there's a good reason for that.

Aloe Vera is one of the most well-researched plants in natural skincare. It has been used for thousands of years to treat and soothe the skin - and the science largely supports why.

Here's what it's known for:

Soothing and calming - Aloe Vera helps relieve irritation and inflammation, making it well suited to sensitive, reactive or dry skin types.

Moisturising - it helps the skin retain moisture without feeling heavy or greasy, which is why it works equally well in a hand wash as it does in a body lotion.

Gentle wound healing - Aloe Vera has been shown to support the skin's natural healing process, helping with minor cuts, burns and skin conditions.

Antibacterial properties - it has natural antibacterial and antiseptic qualities, which make it a useful addition to everyday cleansing products.

Toning - it is also known for its mild toning effects, particularly useful around sensitive facial skin and the eye area.

Not all aloe vera is the same. We use certified organic Aloe Vera across our range - free from synthetic pesticides and grown to a higher standard of purity. For a plant that goes directly onto your skin, that distinction matters.

Aloe vera features in 65 of our products, across almost every range we make. If you'd like to explore which products contain it - or find something suited to your skin - our ingredients guide is a good place to start.
