The Colours Of The Highland

The Colours Of The Highland

When Freytag Anderson set out to design the new Highland Soap Co. identity, the brief was simple: let the landscape do the talking.

The colours you see across our new packaging aren't chosen for trend or fashion. Each one is drawn directly from the Scottish Highlands, from the same landscapes that inspire our ingredients, our products and the way we work.

Here's where they come from.

Heather covers vast stretches of the Scottish Highlands, turning hillsides and moorland a distinctive purple from late summer through early autumn. It's one of the most recognisable features of the Highland landscape - and one of the most enduring symbols of Scotland.

In our range, heather purple finds its home in Wild Nettle & Heather - a fragrance that combines fresh heather flowers with nutrient-rich wild nettle for a subtle, woody-floral scent that captures the feeling of open moorland.

The west coast of Scotland is defined by its seaweed-lined shores. At low tide, the rocks are covered in kelp and knotted wrack - a deep, earthy green that speaks of cold water, clean air and the Hebridean coastline.

It's the colour of the Hebridean Seaweed range - built around wild-harvested kelp from the Outer Hebrides, rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Scotland is home to more whisky distilleries than anywhere else in the world. The warm amber of a fine single malt - rich, deep and slowly matured - is one of the most evocative colours associated with our country.

Golden amber is the inspiration behind the Whisky & Honey palette, a fragrance that captures the warmth of the finest oak-aged single malt with notes of heather honey and skin-conditioning barley.

Ben Nevis stands directly above Fort William, overlooking our workshop and Visitor Centre. It's the highest peak in Britain, and for our team it's simply part of the daily view - the landscape that has shaped everything from the brand's ingredients to its identity.

The silhouette of Ben Nevis runs through the entire Highland Soap Co. visual identity - across the packaging, the labels, the signage and every point of sale. A line that reflects the height, rhythm and natural contours of the mountain. It's a constant reminder of where these products come from and what the landscape means to the people who make them.

Every element in our packaging has a story.

The Highlands. In Essence.
