Juniperus communis (Juniperberry) fruit essential oil. - Juniper has a lovely fresh woody aroma extracted from the berries, it has been used as a fragrance since ancient times and was thought to purify the air where it was used. Antiseptic, antiviral, balancing and purifying, clearing and cleansing. Its detoxifying qualities are known to help purify skin and help to reduce cellulite. It is also reputed to be good for skin that's prone to the occasional spot. Juniper berry oil has a tonic and cleansing effect on oily skin assisting in conditions such as fluid retention and where there is infection and/or discharge of the skin. (Cautions: Pure Juniper Berry essential oil should not be used in aromatherapy during pregnancy.)
