We use only Certified Sustainable Palm Oil in our products. Palm is a wonderful natural plant oil; it makes a superior moisturising soap with a natural thick creamy lather; and a bar that is hard and long-lasting. Palm oil contributes to the economic development of the producing countries and is an important food source for millions of people around the world. Sustainable palm oil is seen as a way forward to continue to supply the world with this much needed vegetable oil without harming the planet and its people.
Although palm oil is entirely GM free and has the highest yield per hectare of any oil or oilseed crop, it is recognised that there are environmental pressures on its rapid expansion to eco-sensitive areas, particularly as oil palm can only be cultivated in tropical areas of Asia, Africa and South America. Our palm oil comes from Columbia, so there is absolutely no infringement on the South East Asian orangutans habitat.
It is vital that production and use of palm oil must be done in a sustainable manner based on economic, social and environmental viability. Our sustainable organic palm is obtained from a supplier who is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil.
